The committee will be led by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH). It will also include the Department of Minerals and Geoscience (JMG), the Public Works Department (JKR), the Fire and Rescue Department, and the police.

The gas pipeline explosion incident in Putra Heights on April 1 saw flames shoot up to over 30 metres high, with temperatures reaching 1,000°C, destroying 81 houses, 57 affected without burning, while another 218 houses remained unaffected.
