Winning Drive: Champions Crowned at 2025 MercedesTrophy National Final

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has wrapped up the 2025 MercedesTrophy National Final in grand style, concluding the 35th edition of one of the world’s most prestigious amateur golf tournaments. Held at the picturesque ELS Club Desaru Coast in Johor on 19 June, the event marked the culmination of an exciting series of qualifying rounds and set the stage for Malaysia’s top players to compete on the international stage.

With a global footprint across more than 60 countries, the MercedesTrophy continues to blend passion, precision and performance—core values that echo the Mercedes-Benz brand. This year’s tournament began with three qualifying rounds at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort in Selangor, followed by a final qualifier at Forest City Golf Resort in Johor Bahru. The top five performers from each round earned their place at the National Final.

After a competitive day on the greens, Tengku Baderul Zaman Ibni Sultan Mahmud claimed the Category A title, while Mr. Muhamad Khairi bin Zakaria and Mr. Chong Mun Hoe secured top spots in Categories B and C respectively. Their outstanding displays of skill, focus and sportsmanship perfectly captured the spirit of the tournament.

Adding to the excitement, Mr. Tan Wan Fook earned the coveted “Drive to the Major” prize, an all-expenses-paid trip to The Open 2025, set to take place in July. Meanwhile, the top three players in each category, based on highest Stableford points, won the ultimate honour: representing Malaysia at the MercedesTrophy World Final.

The World Final will be held from 28 September to 2 October 2025 at the five-star ‘Der Öschberghof’ resort in Germany’s Black Forest, offering breathtaking views of Lake Constance and the Swiss Alps.

Highlighting the tournament’s prestige was the Hole-In-One prize—an all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ Electric Art Line—further reinforcing Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to luxury, innovation and unforgettable experiences.
