BYD Zhengzhou Delivers First Batch of EVs to Malaysia

BYD’s Zhengzhou carrier vessel has made its first delivery to Malaysia.

BYD Malaysia and its official distributor Sime Motors have announced the arrival of the BYD Zhengzhou, a roll-on/roll-off (RORO) carrier vessel built specifically for vehicle transport. This marks a major step forward in strengthening BYD’s supply chain capabilities and accelerating electric vehicle (EV) adoption in Malaysia.

With a 7,000-unit capacity, the BYD Zhengzhou’s maiden voyage to Southeast Asia includes deliveries to Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore, before a final stop in Thailand. By controlling its own shipping fleet, BYD ensures faster, more reliable deliveries, reducing lead times for Malaysian customers.

A Game-Changer for EV Supply Chain

The BYD Zhengzhou is the seventh vessel in BYD’s dedicated shipping fleet, reflecting the company’s long-term commitment to secure logistics and meet growing global EV demand. The RORO system, which allows vehicles to be driven on and off the vessel, offers significant time and cost advantages over conventional container shipping.
