Proton eMas 5 Set for nationwide ‘MISI 5’ roadshow from August to October
Malaysians across all 13 states will soon get the opportunity to see the upcoming Proton eMas 5 electric vehicle in person, thanks to the MISI 5 Tour happening from August through October 2025. This nationwide roadshow aims to introduce Proton’s latest EV to the public ahead of its official launch, with stops at selected tourist hotspots and Proton eMas dealerships.

Following the success of the Proton eMas 7 — currently the best-selling EV in Malaysia — the carmaker is looking to build on that momentum by offering hands-on experiences with its smaller sibling. According to PRO-NET CEO Zhang Qiang, “the best way to build trust and momentum with our soon-to-be launched Proton e.MAS 5 is through hands-on experience.” He added that the car is designed with young urbanites, families, and first-time EV buyers in mind.

The MISI 5 Tour kicks off in the Central Region from August 9 to 17. During this leg, the Proton eMas 5 will be showcased at public landmarks such as Batu Caves, Putra Mosque, Central Market, KLCC, and Saloma Bridge on August 15. It will also be previewed at several Proton eMas dealerships including SG Car (Shah Alam), Wheelcorp (Setia Alam), EON (Glenmarie), AJG (Puchong and Sri Kembangan), among others.

Mechanically, the Proton eMas 5 is expected to mirror the Geely Star Wish (Xingyuan), most likely equipped with a 116 PS/150 Nm rear-mounted electric motor for around 350km of WLTP range with charge kept in reserve likely in the form of a 40kWh LFP pack from CATL.

The launch of the eMAS 5 is expected to be some time toward the close of 2025 to coincide with the opening and operational start of Proton’s EV assembly plant in Tanjung Malim where examples of the eMAS 7 are also due to roll off the line.
