FPX-Only: Khairul Aming Implements Payment Filter To Block Automation Abuse

Khairul Aming has mandated FPX online banking as the only valid payment method for purchases of his new product, Rendang Nyet Berapi, if buyers wish to qualify for a giveaway trip to New Zealand.

The restriction excludes payments via credit cards and e-wallets. Only real-time FPX transactions from verified Malaysian bank accounts are accepted.

Purpose: Eliminate Automated Purchases and Scalping

The move is designed to prevent bots and scalpers from mass purchasing the product. FPX introduces friction in the checkout process that disrupts automation tools commonly used in high-demand product launches.

Technical Barrier Against Bots

FPX payments require multiple real-time steps:

Automated bots cannot easily simulate this multi-step process with real-time verification under a strict time limit.

In contrast, e-wallets and credit cards allow for simpler scripted checkouts with fewer security layers. These methods are easier to exploit using browser automation or pre-stored credentials.

FPX as a Global Anti-Bot Standard

Real-time bank transfers like FPX are increasingly used globally as a barrier against automated abuse. According to Adobe’s 2022 Digital Economy Index, bots were involved in up to 40% of online purchases for high-demand products.

By enforcing FPX, the system filters purchases to actual users with verified Malaysian bank accounts, reducing the risk of scalping or secondary market reselling.

Operational Rollout

Five winners will be selected based on the fastest successful purchases of five units of Rendang Nyet Berapi each. All transactions must be completed via FPX to qualify. The drop will take place on Khairul Aming’s TikTok Live Shop account (@khairulaming) at 9 PM on Friday.

Any transaction made through other payment methods will be disqualified from the giveaway.
