Lilo & Stitch Crashes Onto Disney+ Hotstar This September

Disney’s hit live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch will make its streaming debut on Disney+ Hotstar from 3 September, bringing its chaotic charm and family-first message to homes across the UK and beyond.

The film has taken the global box office by storm, becoming the first Motion Picture Association (MPA) release of 2025 to surpass the US$1 billion mark. After a record-setting US$183 million opening over Memorial Day weekend, it remains the year’s top-grossing MPA title both worldwide and internationally.

Directed by Oscar nominee Dean Fleischer Camp, this reimagining of the beloved 2002 animated classic reintroduces audiences to Lilo, a lonely Hawaiian girl, and Stitch, the mischievous alien who unexpectedly becomes part of her family.

The live-action version stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Maia Kealoha, Zach Galifianakis, Courtney B. Vance, and Hannah Waddingham, with Chris Sanders reprising his role as the voice of Stitch.

Set against lush tropical backdrops and grounded in Hawaiian culture, the film blends heartfelt storytelling with slapstick humour and eye-catching visuals — all while honouring the original’s message of ‘ohana (family).

In celebration of the release, Disney+ Hotstar will also feature the full Lilo & Stitch animated collection, allowing fans to revisit the film that started it all. With over 640 million hours streamed globally, the franchise continues to resonate with audiences of all ages, and a sequel to the live-action adaptation is already in development.
