Popular Pakistani television host and actor Sanam Jung, celebrated for her acclaimed roles in dramas such as Mein Na Janoo, Qaraar, Alvida, Haya, Dil-e-Muztar, Muhabbat Subh Ka Sitara Hai, Mere Humdam Mere Dost, Pyari Mona, and Dhoka, has opened up about her personal life after moving to the United States.
Jung, who also gained immense popularity through her morning show hosting, is currently on a break from acting following the birth of her second daughter. With more than 2.5 million Instagram followers, she continues to stay connected with fans through her social media presence.
Appearing recently on Good Morning Pakistan with host Nida Yasir, Jung spoke candidly about her experience of settling into life abroad.
“Seriously, I miss everything I used to enjoy in Pakistan. We often take family and support systems for granted; you only realize their value after moving abroad,” she said. “It’s not that I’m alone in the USA; I’ve made new friends, and I have cousins and friends here too. But they live about a 30-minute drive away. You can’t just drop your child off at your mother’s like you could back home. Here, you have to do everything on your own, from picking and dropping the kids to taking care of your toddler.”
She revealed that vlogging became her coping mechanism during moments of loneliness. “I started vlogging because it was the way out for me whenever I used to feel alone, I used to talk with the fans. It is my way to relax, I feel better after sharing a vlog,” Jung explained.
Recalling her early days in the U.S., she admitted, “In the beginning, it was difficult for me. I used to cry on the balcony and would often fall into depression, especially in the evening. Now the system is set I’ve made friends.”
Jung also shared how the decision to move was influenced by her husband, Qassam, who works in the U.S. “I knew I had to shift to the USA because Qassam has a job there. I went for a vacation, but when I was coming back, Qassam stopped us because he was feeling so lonely there. He enjoyed spending time with us. There is so much loneliness when you live abroad alone. The hard times were faced by Qassam. I had the support of our parents, but he had to go through it alone.”
Her heartfelt account resonated with many viewers, offering a glimpse into the emotional realities of living far from home while managing motherhood and maintaining a public career.
