“Bring it on!” – MARA Chairman Dares Parents of Expelled MRSM Students Accused of Bullying to Sue Him

Chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki recently revealed that some parents whose children were expelled from Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) due to bullying cases are planning to take legal action against him and the agency.

He stated that this action stems from his firm decision to expel students involved in serious disciplinary misconduct, particularly bullying.

“I was informed that some parents whose children were expelled from MRSM due to bullying want to sue me and MARA. I said, ‘Bring it on!’” he said in a statement today.

According to Asyraf, he will not compromise on student safety, as it is MARA’s responsibility to ensure that the majority of students can learn in a safe and conducive environment.

“I want to protect the safety of the majority of students, not a handful who act like thugs,” he stressed, adding that MARA will continue to take firm action against any student involved in bullying.

He said that thug-like behaviour has no place in MRSM, and perpetrators must face the consequences of their actions regardless of their background.

He also reiterated MARA’s warning message, “#YouTouchYouGo,” as a sign of its commitment to take swift action against bullies to protect other students.

At the end of July, six Form Five students at an MRSM in Melaka were suspended and recommended for expulsion after allegedly being involved in a bullying incident.

In April, the MRSM Disciplinary Committee also recommended that seven students from MRSM in Nibong Tebal, Penang, involved in bullying cases be terminated from their studies.
