PNB to adhere to PM’s advice in Prolintas investment review

PERMODALAN Nasional Berhad (PNB) has pledged to abide by the guidance and advice of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in finalising its strategic review of investment in Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas).

In a statement released on Sunday, PNB said the Prime Minister’s advice aligns with its investment framework, which consistently prioritises the interests of unit holders, the public, as well as national and Bumiputera agendas.

“This remains a key consideration for PNB when evaluating strategic asset investments, in line with the mandate entrusted to us.

“PNB is committed to avoiding any divestment option that could undermine the long-term benefits for unit holders or negatively impact its broader efforts to contribute to public well-being and national development,” the statement read.

On Saturday, Anwar urged PNB to place national and Bumiputera interests at the forefront of any decision-making process, particularly in relation to the Prolintas investment.

He stressed that the strategic review should not proceed if it risks adverse consequences.

“As an institution entrusted with safeguarding national and Bumiputera interests, PNB must retain its role and stake in the country’s strategic assets,” he said. - August 31, 2025
