What a month September has been for K-pop lovers! From the exciting news of BIGBANG at Coachella 2026 to debuts and comebacks fans can’t get enough of, these are the biggest K-pop news to get caught up on.

BIGBANG to perform at Coachella 2026

Coachella is already gearing up for next year’s return to the desert as its star-studded lineup was revealed on 15 September, and VIPs were quick to notice that BIGBANG is on the list! 

Fans of the iconic boy group were especially excited as BIGBANG was initially scheduled to perform at Coachella in 2020 before it was ultimately cancelled. It is unclear if TOP will make a surprise appearance on stage with former bandmates G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung.

BIGBANG is not the only K-pop group to perform at Coachella 2026, as SHINee’s Taemin and Hybe X Geffen’s girl group Katseye will also be gracing the stage. Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, Karol G, and Ayma will headline the music festival happening in April 2026. Check out the full list of performers below:

S.Coups and Mingyu are all about the Hype Vibes

Anticipation continues to build for Seventeen’s upcoming subunit pairing as Hybe Labels releases the track samplers for S.Coups and Mingyu’s mini album, Hybe Vibes. With each teaser, Carats are eager to see how the two rappers’ synergy and chemistry will play out. Set for release on 29 September, the record promises to capture the pair’s free-spirited nature with breezy melodies and bouncy rhythms.

Zerobaseone achieves a Grand Slam for ‘Iconik’

Hot off their studio album release on 1 September, leading 5th gen boy group, Zerobaseone, is living up to their title track after sweeping up six consecutive trophies for ‘Iconik’! In the K-pop lexicon, a grand slam refers to a song that wins the weekly trophy on every major South Korean music show. 

Zerobaseone is also enjoying continued success with their album, ‘Never Say Never’, as it has peaked at number 23 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States, as of 16 September. Listen to the album below!

Chaeyoung debuts her fantasy world

We have another Twice member going solo! On 12 September, Chaeyoung unveiled her highly anticipated solo debut with a full-length studio album ‘Lil Fantasy vol. 1’ together with the music video for the title track ‘Shoot (Firecracker).’

Featuring a bouncy and retro disco rhythm, ‘Shoot (Firecracker)’ captures Chaeyoung’s kitschy and whimsical style and airy vocals. The album contains nine songs, all of which Chaeyoung has songwriting and composing credits on—stream it below!

Dayoung is bringing summer back with ‘Body’

Speaking of exciting solo debuts, another one that caught K-pop fans’ attention is WJSN’s Dayoung! Nine years after her group’s debut, Dayoung caused buzz online due to her bold transformation from a girl next door to a summer bombshell. With her washboard abs and sun-kissed skin, ‘Body’ is a fun pop dance song that captures the sizzling heat of a summer night and the dizzying feeling of falling in love.

Cortis are trendsetters in ‘Fashion’

BigHit Music’s newest boy group, Cortis, is on a fiery momentum! On 8 September, the group released their debut EP, Colour Outside the Lines, alongside the music video for their latest single, ‘Fashion’. The hip-hop track has been making waves for its catchy hook and gritty bassline. 

The BTS labelmates, consisting of members Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho, have sold just under 500,000 copies of Colour Outside the Lines within its first week of release, achieving the highest first-week sales of any group so far in 2025. Check out Cortis’ debut EP:

Aespa channels their ‘Rich Man’ energy

After serving up hits such as ‘Whiplash’ and ‘Supernova’ last year, Aespa is back to serve up major sass and drama with their latest mini album, Rich Man, and title track of the same name. Going down the punk rock route, the track is the ultimate self-hype song as the members sing about being their own rich man.
