What a month September has been for K-pop lovers! From the exciting news of BIGBANG at Coachella 2026 to debuts and comebacks fans can’t get enough of, these are the biggest K-pop news to get caught up on.
BIGBANG to perform at Coachella 2026Coachella is already gearing up for next year’s return to the desert as its star-studded lineup was revealed on 15 September, and VIPs were quick to notice that BIGBANG is on the list!
Fans of the iconic boy group were especially excited as BIGBANG was initially scheduled to perform at Coachella in 2020 before it was ultimately cancelled. It is unclear if TOP will make a surprise appearance on stage with former bandmates G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung.
BIGBANG is not the only K-pop group to perform at Coachella 2026, as SHINee’s Taemin and Hybe X Geffen’s girl group Katseye will also be gracing the stage. Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, Karol G, and Ayma will headline the music festival happening in April 2026. Check out the full list of performers below:

In the K-pop lexicon, a grand slam refers to a song that wins the weekly trophy on every major South Korean music show.
Zerobaseone is also enjoying continued success with their album, ‘Never Say Never’, as it has peaked at number 23 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States, as of 16 September. Listen to the album below!
Chaeyoung debuts her fantasy worldWe have another Twice member going solo! On 12 September, Chaeyoung unveiled her highly anticipated solo debut with a full-length studio album ‘Lil Fantasy vol. 1’ together with the music video for the title track ‘Shoot (Firecracker).’
Featuring a bouncy and retro disco rhythm, ‘Shoot (Firecracker)’ captures Chaeyoung’s kitschy and whimsical style and airy vocals. The album contains nine songs, all of which Chaeyoung has songwriting and composing credits on—stream it below!
Dayoung is bringing summer back with ‘Body’Speaking of exciting solo debuts, another one that caught K-pop fans’ attention is WJSN’s Dayoung! Nine years after her group’s debut, Dayoung caused buzz online due to her bold transformation from a girl next door to a summer bombshell. With her washboard abs and sun-kissed skin, ‘Body’ is a fun pop dance song that captures the sizzling heat of a summer night and the dizzying feeling of falling in love.
Cortis are trendsetters in ‘Fashion’BigHit Music’s newest boy group, Cortis, is on a fiery momentum! On 8 September, the group released their debut EP, Colour Outside the Lines, alongside the music video for their latest single, ‘Fashion’. The hip-hop track has been making waves for its catchy hook and gritty bassline.
