M'sian Students Without Motorbike License Complain About Paying RM2.60 For Petrol After Missing Out On BUDI95 | WeirdKaya
The debate surrounding the targeted BUDI95 fuel subsidy has taken a new turn, this time involving secondary school students who ride motorcycles to school. Students have to pay RM2.60 per litre

A teacher recently shared on Threads that many of his students were unhappy as they had to fork out the full price of RM2.60 per litre for RON95 petrol because they are not eligible for the subsidy.

The main reason? Most of them do not have a valid driving license.

Modified motorcycles but no money for petrol

The teacher added that many of these students had already spent hundreds of ringgit modifying their motorcycles.

Netizens say it’s a lesson

The revelation sparked laughter and debate among netizens, many of whom felt this should serve as a lesson for the students.

“Serves them right. From young, their parents allowed them to ride without a license. When something happens, it inconveniences everyone,” one netizen commented.

Another said, “They have money to modify their motorbikes but no money to apply for a license? Surely they saved up for modifications, so why not save for a license too?”

Some even joked that the fuel price should be raised to RM5 for those riding without a license.
