Kuching cops nab youth on stolen motorcycle during patrol

KUCHING (Nov 3): The Kuching District Motorcycle Patrol Unit detained a youth and seized a stolen motorcycle yesterday during a crime prevention patrol at Jalan Ajibah Abol.

The district police headquarters said in a Facebook post that the patrol team stopped the suspect, who was riding the motorcycle in a suspicious manner, at 7.04pm.

“Further inspection revealed that the motorcycle was using a fake registration number and had been reported stolen in Batu Kawa

“The suspect, a 22-year-old local man, was arrested at the scene,” said the post.

A urine test conducted on the suspect returned negative for drugs.

He is being held at the Central Police Station lock-up for further investigation under Section 379A of the Penal Code.
