Volkswagen has just shared news that they will begin production of the ID. Buzz electric vehicle in Indonesia in 2026. So, can we assume that a Malaysian launch is just around the corner for the long awaited VW ID. Buzz?

We also think its on the way since Volkswagen in Malaysia recently did a media get together with Rainer Zietlowand his cross continent ID. Buzz.

Indomobil Group Director, Andrew Nasuri, stated that since its debut at the 2025 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) in February, consumer interest in the VW ID. Buzz has shown an upward trend. As a result, the company plans to commence local production in 2026.

“Yes, production will start next year,” Andrew stated to the press when in Jakarta recently.

The VW ID. Buzz electric car is expected to be produced at the National Assemblers facility owned by the Indomobil Group, located in Cikampek, West Java.

“The Indonesian market is extraordinary. Since the launch, the customers have been very unique. Those who have been waiting are individuals who truly appreciate the heritage, history, and familiarity of the club,” Andrew concluded.
