YouTube TV confirms 'restricted' problem that prevents playback of recorded content
1 day ago
An issue affecting YouTube TV subscribers today is leaving recorded content inaccessible, but YouTube TV has confirmed it is aware of the problem and working to fix it.
Over the past several hours, YouTube TV users have noticed that the app is unable to play content from the recorded library. This appears to happen across mobile apps, TVs, and the YouTube TV website and says that the content provider (i.e. NBC, ESPN, ABC, etc) has “restricted access” to that content.
The issue doesn’t appear to be affecting all subscribers, but it’s happening to a notable number of people.
In a post on its forums, Google has confirmed that it is aware of this YouTube TV issue affected recorded content, but a fix is not available just yet.
Google says:
We know some of you are running into issues accessing your recorded programs and our teams are working on it!
If you’re experiencing this, you might see a “Restricted recording” or “go back” message when trying to start a recorded show.
We’ll provide updates here as soon as we have them. Thanks so much for your patience!
We’ll update this article as Google provides more details and as recorded content comes back online. If you’re running into this issue, let us know in the comments below.
