Man shot dead while eating at Banting restaurant

BANTING – A man was shot dead at a fast-food restaurant here on Sunday.

The incident is believed to have occurred at about 10pm while the victim was eating at the premises.

Police who received information about the shooting arrived at the scene and secured the area to prevent public access.

The location quickly drew the attention of members of the public, with some stopping their vehicles to find out what had happened.

A Sinar check at the scene found the area cordoned off under tight police control to allow forensic teams to conduct investigations.

Also present were Selangor Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din and Kuala Langat district police chief Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi.

The Royal Malaysia Police K9 Unit was also seen at the scene.

The suspect is believed to be a man riding a motorcycle and is still being sought by police.

The incident has since gone viral on Facebook, drawing various reactions from netizens.

Police said an official statement on the incident will be issued.
