Golden Globes 2026: Winners and Highlights

The award season continues with the 83rd edition of the Golden Globes, as stars gathered in Los Angeles to celebrate the best of international film and TV in 2025. The Globes, unlike the Oscars, categorise films by genres, which means more winners and sometimes, more surprises. 

But what wasn’t surprising was One Battle After Another continuing its winning streak with a total of four trophies—the most of any film that night—including best picture (musical or comedy), best screenplay, best director, and best supporting actress for Teyana Taylor. 

Another major winner was Chloe Zhao’s Hamnetwith two statues, including best picture (drama) and best actress for Jessie Buckley’s affecting performance as a grieving mother. 

Several actors also earned their career-first Golden Globe. Namely, Timothée Chalamet, who picked up best actor in a musical or comedy for Marty Supreme after four prior nominations. Further, Australian actress Rose Byrne also took home her first trophy for her portrayal as a struggling mother in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.

The best actor in a drama category surprised as Wagner Moura beat out Oscar Isaac, Michael B. Jordan, and Dwayne Johnson for his role in The Secret Agent. Significantly, this makes Moura the first Brazilian actor to win in this category. The film also doubled its victory as the best non-English picture.

Over on television, Adolescence, a psychological crime drama shot in one take, came out victorious with four prizes. Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and Owen Cooper dominated in their respective acting categories, with the latter once again making history as the youngest recipient in that category at 16 years old.

Noah Wyle continued his streak as best actor in a TV drama for his role in The Pitt, while Rhea Seehorn won best actress as a novelist struggling against an alien virus in Apple TV’s Pluribus.

The Studio proved to be a favourite in the comedy category as it picked up best actor for Seth Rogen and best comedy series. Jean Smart and Michelle Williams took home their third Golden Globe for Hacks and Dying for Sex, respectively. 

Pop culture sensation KPop Demon Hunters took home two awards, including best animated feature and best original song for its viral hit, Golden.
