Infrastructure devt, Federal-Sarawak cooperation discussed at pre-Parliament meeting in KL

KUCHING, Jan 18: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg chaired a meeting with Members of Parliament and senators from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in Kuala Lumpur last night, ahead of the first Parliamentary sitting of the year, which begins tomorrow (Jan 19).
According to Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, who was also present at the meeting, the session served as an important platform for early discussions and coordination of strategic agendas, particularly on infrastructure development and the strengthening of cooperation between the Federal Government and the Sarawak Government.
“It is hoped that the results of this discussion can strengthen planning and bring great benefits to the people and the development of the country as a whole,” he wrote on his Facebook today.
Also present during the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof; Senate Speaker, Senator Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah; State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki; Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, and Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Dato Sri Tiong King Sing.
The gathering served as a platform for discussions and updates between the Premier and GPS leaders at the Federal level, including reports on the latest developments in their respective ministries. – DayakDaily
