Apple rolls out Xcode 26.3 Release Candidate 2

Apple is rolling out the second Release Candidate of Xcode 26.3, which will feature agentic coding capabilities. Here are the details.

Earlier this month, Apple announced that Xcode 26.3 would gain agentic coding capabilities, integrating natively with AI coding tools such as Anthropic’s Claude Agent and OpenAI’s Codex.

Apple rolled out Xcode 26.3 Release Candidate 1 around the same time as RC versions of iOS 26.3, macOS 26.3, and its other platforms. However, when those operating systems were officially released on February 11, Xcode 26.3 was notably missing.

Today, Apple released Xcode 26.3 Release Candidate 2, a sign that the company still felt it needed to tweak it further before making the update officially available to developers.

It’s not immediately clear what’s different between Xcode 26.3 RC 1 and RC 2, but the extra release is notable, especially since Apple pushed out the first beta of Xcode 26.4 just days ago.

Be that as it may, Xcode 26.3’s agentic coding integration has been getting high praise from developers who’ve been using it since the first RC shipped. With RC 2 rolling out today, it’s reasonable to expect that (barring any new last-minute issues) the final release could land sometime next week.

Have you been using Xcode 26.3’s agentic coding capabilities? Let us know in the comments.
