Apple releases macOS 26.4 public beta 2
Following yesterday’s release of the developer version of macOS 26.4 beta 2, the public beta is rolling out now. Here’s what to expect.
Here’s what to expect from macOS 26.4With macOS 26.4, Apple brought back the compact tab bar to Safari, and is now warning users that Rosetta apps will stop working in the future.
Apple had previously informed users and developers that support for its Apple Silicon/Intel translation tool would end with macOS 27, and now it will start displaying this alert as a pop-up, likely as an attempt to nudge developers to adjust their apps.
In addition, macOS 26.4 adds native support for a popular third-party-style battery management feature, allowing users to cap maximum charge levels between 80% and 100%.
The release build for today’s macOS 26.4 public beta 2 is 25E5218f, which is the same as yesterday’s developer build.
