The Mac is about to get a new AAA game in rare day-one launch

Next week will be big for the Mac, with several new MacBooks launching. But another key moment is around the corner: Crimson Desert, a AAA game debuts next month with a day-one macOS release.
Gaming on the Mac has long trailed the PC market, with many AAA titles either not getting macOS versions at all, or shipping much later than on other platforms.
But there’s one big exception coming next month.
Crimson Desert arrives March 19, launching day one on macOS alongside PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and more.
The game is an open world action-adventure title from Pearl Abyss, and it’s become one of the most anticipated titles of the year.
You can pre-order Crimson Desert now on Steam at $69.99 for the Standard edition or $79.99 for Deluxe.
Before you do, you might want to check the system requirements, as seen below:
Last summer, Apple announced that Crimson Desert would be coming to the Mac as part of a lineup of nine big new debuts.
It specifically highlighted how the game would “leverage powerful software technologies like MetalFX Upscaling to accelerate performance and deliver high-quality visuals, as well as take advantage of the M3 and M4 family of chips with ray tracing for a breathtaking experience.”
Considering Apple has featured the title in the past, I wouldn’t be surprised to see it show up again next week as part of the M5 Pro and M5 Max unveiling.
