The Xiaomi 17 series has officially made its global debut in conjunction with Mobile World Congress 2026 and the latest flagship phones are now available for pre-order in Malaysia.
Similar to the previous years, the global markets including Malaysia are only getting the compact Xiaomi 17 and the top-of-the-line Xiaomi 17 Ultra Model. This means we are not getting the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max which come with a secondary display on the rear.

Xiaomi 17 Malaysia SpecsThe Xiaomi 17 features a 6.3″ LTPO AMOLED display (2656 × 1220 pixels resolution) and adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. It supports up to 3,500 nits peak brightness and offers 12-bit colour depth.
The display also integrates an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and it is protected by Xiaomi’s Shield Glass. Being the most compact flagship in the lineup, the Xiaomi 17 weighs 191g and it is 8.06mm thick.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (2x Prime Core up to 4.6GHz, 6x Performance Core up to 3.62GHz), paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. It also gets a 3D IceLoop system to keep things cool under intense heavy multi-tasking.
In the camera department, the Xiaomi 17 comes with a Leica co-developed triple rear camera setup. This consists of a 50MP f/1.67 main camera with a Light Fusion 950 sensor and OIS, a 50MP f/f.24 ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50MP f/2.0 telephoto camera with 2.6x optical zoom.
On the front, the device gets a 50MP f/2.2 selfie camera that sits in a punch-hole.
For connectivity, the device supports 5G, eSIM, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and NFC. It also comes with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and a 4-mic array The Xiaomi 17 also carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Keeping the lights on is a 6,330mAh Xiaomi Surge battery, which is smaller than the Xiaomi 17 in China which comes with a larger 7,000mAh unit. It supports 100W fast wired HyperCharge, 50W wireless HyperCharge and 22.5W wired reverse charging.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra SpecsNext is the Xiaomi 17 Ultra which is their ultimate photography-centric flagship smartphone co-developed with Leica. It features a 6.9″ HyperRGB OLED display (2608 × 1200 resolution) and LTPO adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz. It also supports up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, 12-bit colour depth and Dolby Vision.
The panel is TÜV-certified for low blue light and flicker-free viewing, and it offers up to a 300Hz touch sampling rate.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra also runs on Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (2x Prime Core up to 4.6GHz, 6x Performance Core up to 3.62GHz), paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage up to 1TB.
Despite the huge hardware upgrades, this is Xiaomi’s thinnest and lightest Ultra model yet measuring at 8.29mm and it weighs 219g.
In the camera department, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes with a comprehensive Leica Summilux triple rear camera setup. This consists of a 50MP 1-inch main camera using the Light Fusion 1050L sensor with OIS, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 115° field of view.
One of the main highlights is its 200MP Leica 75–100mm telephoto camera with mechanical optical zoom. The telephoto lens uses three moving lens groups to achieve true 75mm to 100mm optical zoom (3.2x-4.3x), delivering optical-quality results without digital cropping.
The device also features Leica APO optical lens design to reduce chromatic aberration and improve colour accuracy across the zoom range. For selfies, it comes with a front-facing 50MP camera.
For connectivity, the device supports 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and NFC, along with dual SIM support including nano SIM and eSIM. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra also comes with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, 4-mic array and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. It also comes with IP68-rated dust and water resistance.
The device is equipped with a 6,000mAh battery, which is smaller than the Chinese market version that features a larger 6,800mAh unit. It supports 90W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge.
