Siren’s Kiss Finale Recap And Ending Explained: Who Kills Eun-hyuk?

Last week, I remember getting really tense while watching the tenth episode of “Siren’s Kiss” where Seol-ah is locked inside Chairwoman Kim’s vault. She wants to escape, but unfortunately, the vault’s exit codes are different, and she can’t even contact Woo-seok due to the thick walls. The Amazon Prime K-drama left us in agony over a week on this cliffhanger, where we kept guessing if Chairwoman Kim was the one trying to unlock the vault door in the end.

Episode 11 reveals that it is none other than Woo-seok who has come to save Seol-ah. And just before Chairwoman Kim comes in, they escape from the vault and drive away from the Royal Auction Gallery. It becomes clear that Seol-ah is planning for revenge after she spotted her dead father’s favorite painting inside Kim’s vault. While Woo-seok comforts her, she prepares for the next auction where Chairwoman Kim has planned to bid for the last painting of late artist Song Hwan-ju. Seol-ah exposes Kim’s forgery by sharing authenticity reports of Hwan-ju’s artwork and shows video of all the real paintings inside the vault. Thanks to Woo-seok, Ju-yeong, and Seong III, the police swiftly put Chairwoman Kim in custody.

Spoilers Ahead

Why do Seol-ah and Woo-seok pursue Hyun-su?

Seol-ah knows that Hyun-su is Chairwoman Kim’s trusted accomplice and Woo-seok is well aware of his involvement in the Taemyung Group’s insurance fraud incident. They don’t know that before getting arrested, Kim has already instructed Hyun-su to move the paintings to someplace else. However, when Woo-seok and Seol-ah discover Stiller’s piece inside the vault during the police raid, they sense that Kim must have already made a copy of the painting. Woo-seok knows Hyun-su’s whereabouts since he has bugged his car with a GPS tracker. He catches Hyun-su right when he is trying to burn all the fake paintings inside a hidden forgery station run by Chairwoman Kim. Woo-seok is already resentful towards Hyun-su because he has seen the man walk out of prison even after murdering Woo-joo. When Hyun-su gets confronted, he tries to trigger Woo-seok by blaming him for Woo-joo’s death since he knows that’s the only way to weaken him. Naturally, it leaves Woo-seok enraged and viciously attacks Hyun-su because he still blames him for Woo-joo’s death. Seol-ah arrives with police just in time, and when Hyun-su is taken into custody, his nonchalant behavior frustrates Police Chief Seong II.

Who Kills Chairwoman Kim?

After Chairwoman Kim is arrested, Seong II and Ju-yeong try their best to squeeze a confession out of her, but she turns out to be a tough nut to crack. Within hours, her expert legal team gets her out of prison on the grounds of health issues, and Kim returns to her office at the Royal Auction Gallery. After a brief meeting with Seol-ah, Kim threatens her but understands that she is not backing down easily. Despite getting out of legal trouble, Kim’s fear spikes, and she instructs someone on call to silence Hyun-su once he gets out. Later, that man is revealed to be Eun-hyuk, who has been Chairwoman Kim’s secret accomplice all this time. The same night, he sneaks into Chairwoman Kim’s office, kills her, and hangs the body to make it look like suicide. Eun-hyuk knows that it’s easy to do so, especially when the public is aware of Kim’s struggles and she even types a suicide letter on her laptop. He leaves with Kim’s bookkeeping ledger, and in the morning, visits the office with Seol-ah just so that nobody suspects him. But Seol-ah finds the letter on the laptop sort of off because Kim, being an old-school person, has always relied on handwritten stuff. Woo-seok finds her suspicion valid, and that’s why he suggests that they should investigate Eun-hyuk.

Is Seol-ah alive?

Woo-seok investigates CCTV footage of Eun-hyuk’s workshop in Cheongun on the day of Jun-beom’s murder, and his suspicion peaks because he finds everything too perfect. Despite Eun-hyuk’s clean image, he decides to visit the workshop because the CCTV only covers the front entrance. While Seol-ah finds Chairwoman Kim’s handwritten ledger inside Eun-hyuk’s bag at his studio, Woo-seok discovers diving gear, an unseen motorbike, and a secret alley behind the workshop. He understands that it’s the perfect escape route, and most likely Eun-hyuk is Jun-beom’s murderer as well since the villa is only sixteen minutes away from there. Unfortunately, Woo-seok gets attacked by Eun-hyuk, and upon regaining consciousness, he finds himself tied up. Meanwhile, Seol-ah rushes towards Cheongun after she discovers Kim’s connection with Eun-hyuk from the ledger by inspecting the expenses under his name. While she is on the way, she hears Eun-hyuk confessing about the murders after Woo-seok calls her from his watch. She arrives just in time to find Eun-hyuk getting ready to shoot Woo-seok. He shows no intention of shooting Seol-ah, but when he tries shooting Woo-seok, she jumps in front of the gun and takes the shot. She starts losing blood and gradually becomes unconscious while Woo-seok panics. Since Seol-ah has already alerted Seong II after listening to Eun-hyuk’s confession, the police arrive and arrest him in no time. Luckily, doctors at the hospital discover that the bullet did not touch any major nerve, and hours after the surgery, Seol-ah recovers.

Why Did Eun-hyuk Become a Monster/Serial Killer?

Eun-hyuk always tried to protect Seol-ah from people who never deserved her (at least that’s what he thought). While Seol-ah dealt with the trauma of Su-ho’s death and consulted Dr. Choi, Eun-hyuk came to know about his addiction issues. He thought that Dr. Choi was exploiting Seol-ah, and one night, Eun-hyuk caught him in his chamber while he was taking drugs. After he injected a high dose, Dr. Choi died from drug overdose and the police thought it was suicide. After recovering from Choi’s death, Seol-ah fell in love with Seung-jae, and their relationship was going pretty well. But one evening, Eun-hyuk saw Seung-jae getting convinced by Yun-ji’s words, and that made him think that the man had no faith in Seol-ah. To Eun-hyuk, Seung-jae was a spineless man, and that’s why he killed him by sneaking into his yacht. Things were easier for him since the yacht was in the middle of water and Eun-hyuk finished the job without breaking a sweat. Yun-ji’s and Seol-ah’s rivalry was mostly limited to professional grounds until the day Eun-hyuk killed Seung-jae. Unfortunately, Yun-ji witnessed him getting out of the water and even saw his face after he opened his mask. Later when he saw SIU investigator Woo-seok calling Yun-ji, he pushed her off the rooftop, making her fall to her death.

Way before Seol-ah figured out about Jun-beom’s real identity, Eun-hyuk had a hunch that it might be Su-ho because both of them were lefties. He found eerie similarities between Su-ho and Jun-beom after he saw Jun-beom’s smirk and walking style. Eun-hyuk was the one who spiked Jun-beom’s champagne at the party because he wanted to confirm his suspicion. After he collapsed and went into an anaphylactic shock, Eun-hyuk was sure because it was the same allergy that Su-ho had. He knew that it was Su-ho after looking at the pattern of the villa and the way he looked at Seol-ah from the first exhibition. Eun-hyuk killed him after turning off the electricity, and the hexagonal patterns that Woo-seok found were from his gloves only.

Did Eun-hye lie to the police?

Previously, Eun-hye was summoned by Seong II and Yu-jeong for questioning regarding Yun-ji’s murder. She came clean with the fact that she was the one to secretly record a clip of the altercation between Seol-ah and Yun-ji. Since Eun-hye hated Seol-ah, she blamed her for Yun-ji’s death, which made the police keep her name on the suspected list. However, Eun-hye was dishonest with the police during her interrogation. She knew that something was wrong with Eun-hyuk but did not disclose it to the police to keep his brother safe. She noticed him staying glued to Seol-ah throughout the entire day, which she found to be really strange. When Seol-ah comes back home from the hospital, one day, Eun-hye visits her. She confesses her wrongdoings to her because after knowing what her brother has done, Eun-hye now regrets her past actions. Despite everything Eun-hye has done, Seol-ah accepts her apology.

Who Kills Eun-hyuk?

When the police arrested Eun-hyuk, he ignored all of their questions in the interrogation room. Yu-jeong tried to trigger him by asking if Seol-ah ordered him to kill Dr. Choi, Seung-jae, or Su-ho, but Eun-hyuk stayed tight-lipped. When Seol-ah heard about it, she wanted to turn herself in as the main culprit because she knew that would move Eun-hyuk. She was well aware of the fact that Eun-hyuk had feelings for her, and her plan succeeded. When he saw Seol-ah coming into the police station, he confessed everything because he was in love with her. But that day, when Eun-hye visited Seol-ah, she informed her that Eun-hyuk wanted to see her, and it intrigued Seol-ah a lot.

The next day, Eun-hyuk admits that Seol-ah’s presence has helped him recover from his abusive childhood. He confesses that he killed his father in a fit of rage, and after that, his mother abandoned him, taking the insurance payout. That incident has made him understand that death can make a person rich, and that’s why he set fire to Seol-ah’s house. This surprises Seol-ah because she does not remember passing out with the lighter in her hand. It was the exact same moment when Eun-hyuk arrived, lit the house on fire, and carried her outside. He further reveals that it was the exact moment when Chairwoman Kim started mentoring him. Eun-hyuk has made Yun-ji, Seung-jae, Dr. Choi, and Su-ho take insurance so that when he kills them, Seol-ah will get all the benefits. When Eun-hyuk reveals his true intentions, Seol-ah leaves the station in sadness and disappointment. She warns him to stop calling her by her name, and this behavior changes Eun-hyuk. Instead of looking at his faults, he spirals into depression and kills himself inside his cell.

What Happens to Woo-seok and Seol-ah in the End?

Seol-ah and Woo-seok suffered a lot throughout but never gave up on each other. When Woo-seok sobbed uncontrollably after coming home from Hyun-su’s hideout, she comforted him. Seol-ah even cooked for him, something that she has not done in years. She knew how much Woo-seok loved Woo-joo and urged him to visit his sister’s shrine. Seol-ah almost sacrificed her life to save Woo-seok, the SIU investigator whom she despised in the beginning. When she was in the hospital, he took good care of Seol-ah by taking time out of his busy schedule. After Eun-hyuk’s death, Woo-seok and Seol-ah get into a relationship officially, better than ever. Seol-ah accompanies Woo-seok in a drawing competition held by his insurance company and inspires children to fight against prejudice. Woo-seok and Seol-ah meet Chae-rin there, the girl whose mother tried insurance fraud by burning her own daughter. As Hyun-su receives a sentence of fifteen years, Seong II apologizes to Woo-seok for neglecting his suspicion during Woo-joo’s murder. To make it up, he even gives Woo-seok a lead on a current insurance fraud case.

In the ending of “Siren’s Kiss,” Seol-ah receives a surprise proposal from Woo-seok, who asks for her hand in marriage. She backs out in the beginning because Seol-ah has already enrolled in a degree abroad and the long distance might ruin their relationship. But Woo-seok insists she stay engaged because he has faith in himself and Seol-ah. Since she has fallen in love with Woo-seok and trusts him a lot, Seol-ah ultimately agrees, thus marking the beginning of a new life together. Seol-ah and Woo-seok’s story in “Siren’s Kiss” reflects how love transcends all dimensions, conquers all difficulties, and stays strong despite the darkest days of our lives. All we need is just to have faith.
