Man with disabilities found dead after early morning hotel fire in Sibu

KUCHING, Apr 18: A 43-year-old man with disabilities was found dead following a fire that broke out in a ground-floor room at a hotel along Jalan Tukang Besi in Sibu today.

According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 6.53am, and firefighters from the Sibu Central station were deployed.

The report noted that the room, estimated at 10 x 16 square feet, was destroyed in the fire.

After extinguishing the fire, work was carried out, and an inspection was carried out, leading to the discovery of the victim inside the bathroom.

The victim, identified as Johnathan Goh Yow Chyang, was later handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
