What Happens To Faye And Wayne At The End of 'Euphoria' Season 3?

[Spoiler Alert] The worst turn of events in Euphoria season 3, is when Faye feels like Rue, the only person who has consistently been nice to her so far, is betraying her. What’s interesting is that, just last season, she chose not to betray Fez and Ash, so why the betrayal now? Well, by the end of the show, it’s clear that Faye is now tired of being left alone with nothing to her name. What Wayne wants to give her is a new life, away from the drugs, etc. When he gets mad at her for taking the laxatives, I wonder if she questions whether he genuinely cares or if he’s simply threatening her life. Either way, she’s left thinking she has to do what he expects of her. Towards the end of the show, we can see the conflict in Faye’s mind. She wants to help Rue and get out of here. Really, her main goal is to get out, but when Rue doesn’t have the money she promised her (from inside the safe), she’s left thinking that the only person who can give her her freedom is Wayne. The guy who gave her a Nazi tattoo and the promise he’d make her have his babies. Anyway, Faye decides to choose Wayne because, despite everything, he can protect her too. He’s done so before, and he does it again when they leave the ranch.

Despite everything, Wayne might still be the worst character on the show. First of all, he’s a Nazi and he’s blatantly racist, but none of it matters to Faye because he’s her escape card. Ultimately, she feels betrayed by Rue, because what she sees isn’t what was promised, whereas Wayne has always been sure to do exactly what he says. This is why she decides to scream his name when she realizes her dream of getting out is gone for good. That’s why she chooses the second-best option. Later, Wayne realizes what’s going on and leaves his dad behind to run away on a horse with Faye. He doesn’t have the time to get everyone out, but all he really cares about is his lineage, and so he takes Faye and flees. Maybe there’s a chance he might try to get his people out of prison in the future, but unlikely, because it looks like he too wants out of the drug business.

Chloe Cherry said in an interview that she believes Faye and Wayne escaped and hitchhiked with a family who dropped them off at an unassuming location. First of all, the fact that it was a family with children was really strange to me, considering what Faye looked like at that moment, trying to catch a ride. Wayne is just there holding a gun behind a bush, because she’s prone to getting picked up by the wrong kind of people. Additionally, anyone with children in their car would not stop on the highway for a hitchhiker. Sure, she’s a solo woman, but they have other things to worry about. But I guess Sam Levinson wasn’t thinking about any of that, he simply wanted to somehow give this duo a happy ending. They can finally live out their fantasies. One can hope that this lifestyle might teach Wayne to be a better person, but the truth is, he’s never going to change, he’ll always be evil. Wayne and Faye will live the idyllic dream life that Cassie had hoped for for herself and Nate. They’ll probably have a bunch of kids just as Wayne’s been wanting, and Faye will end up being happy because she’s finally left the drugs behind. I guess that’s a positive way of looking at it, because Faye will get the life that Rue couldn’t. It’s really interesting to see how things turned out for both the addicts. Really, there’s a chance that if Faye hadn’t turned on Rue, our protagonist might still be alive because the rest of the future would’ve looked entirely different. Maybe they both would’ve gone to Texas together, and Wayne might’ve been caught by the DEA and sent to prison, where he belongs.

There’s a low-key chance the duo never get found out because they decide to live a quiet, remote life that doesn’t bother anyone, so in turn they don’t get bothered either. They might find nice neighbours and set up a farm for themselves. There’s no way either of them can get any actual jobs, but if they behave, they can make an honest living for themselves. Faye’s life has always been about the circumstances she’s been put in. She went from being a junkie to living with Fez, who showed her that men can be good people, too. But with Fez gone, there’s no one to help Faye leave behind her neo-Nazi ways. This weird “Bonnie and Clyde” dream is what she’ll end up settling for. Are we meant to expect a spinoff? What kind of random ending was that?

Does Faye in any way feel guilty about Rue’s death? I think there’s a massive chance that she doesn’t care. If she remains friends with Fez and tries to keep in touch with him, there’s a probability she will find out about what happened to Rue and then feel somewhat responsible. But if she keeps in touch with Fez, there’s a chance she and Wayne get caught too, so maybe it’s all going to be a forgotten chapter of her life that she will occasionally think back to in the future. Ultimately, though it’s unfair, Wayne’s the big villain that comes out of this unscathed. He will get to live his dream life despite being an absolute prick of a man. But at least we can hope he won’t keep tormenting people like before, and hopefully, this will be a lesson for him to enjoy a quiet life. All that we can do now is just hope for the best, though if it were up to me, I’d have killed Wayne off. But let us know what you think happened to these two?
