iOS 27 beta release date: When you can install the new iPhone update
9 hours ago
iOS 27’s big unveiling is just days away, and if you’re interested in installing pre-release software on your iPhone, you won’t have to wait long for the beta. Here’s the expected iOS 27 beta release date.
iOS 27 developer beta expected to launch Monday, with public beta in JulyIf you’re the kind of Apple user who always wants to try the most cutting-edge features, there’s a good chance you’ve installed a beta or two before.
For anyone willing to install a beta—and risk all the bugs that may come with it—WWDC is an especially exciting week.
Monday’s WWDC keynote will bring the unveilings of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and more. But it’s also expected to bring the release of developer betas for those software updates too.
The same day Apple shows off its major new OS versions, it typically releases those updates in beta. So the first iOS 27 developer beta should launch this Monday, June 8.
Apple offers two main ways for users to try future software updates: there’s a developer beta and a public beta. Years ago, the developer beta was limited to only paying developers. But now, anyone can access developer betas for free.
iOS 27’s public beta, following the pattern of past years, is expected to debut this July.
The main reason to wait is that iOS 27 should be in more stable shape by then, since Apple usually releases several developer betas before the first public beta. So if you’re concerned about bugs or performance issues on your iPhone, the public beta is a safer bet.
And of course, if you want to avoid beta releases altogether, iOS 27 and its companion updates are expected to launch to all users in September.
Do you plan to install iOS 27 on Monday? Why or why not? Let us know in the comments.
