While it might not be the long weekend that we were treated to last week, there’s still lots to see and do around the city and you can make the most of it with this edition of the BURO Weekend Guide. 1. SHOP FOR THE SUMMER AT PETALS IN THE SUN BY THE MESSY CLUB

Where: The Campus Ampang

It’s a regional summer affair at The Campus Ampang this weekend as over 50 brands from Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia gather for The Messy Club’s Petals in the Sun market! Expect nothing but the most playful colours, exciting finds, and whimsical outfits.

2. SINK YOUR TEETH INTO THE CRUNCH OF DOU FRIED CHICKEN AT GLOUGLOU

When: Every Friday to Sunday in June | 6pm to 11pm 

Where: Dou Dou Bake

Dou Dou Bake is debuting its Dou Fried Chicken for this month’s edition of Glouglou. Enjoy the crunchy and crispy bites with fizzy drinks and craft beers from Monster & Beer plus the usual sweet treats from its dessert kitchen. The menu offers three styles of fried chicken, which you can enjoy with two sides.

3. TASTE THE BEST OF THE SUSHI SEASON AT ‘THE HIDDEN PLATE’ EXPERIENCE

When: From now until 31 December 2026

Where: Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and Sushi Azabu’s ‘The Hidden Plate’ omakase experience has returned! This time, the series is presented in four segments, aiming to highlight the best produce of each season in a menu curated by Chef Nao. The current season presents the flavours of spring such as bluefin tuna and sea urchin.

4. STOP BY FOR CAKE & COFFEE AT KEFI KOHI X LIANG REN PASTRY’S POP-UP 

When: 6 to 7 June 2026 

Where: Kefi Kohi

Known for their polished and intricate sweet treats, Liang Ren is popping by Kefi Kohi for the weekend. You’ll be able to enjoy their signature bites alongside drinks by the hosting team in their cosy new space. No time to hang? No problem! Just swing by for some takeaway, so you can savour it all at home.

5. TALK ALL THINGS OCEANS, COMMUNITY & CLIMATE AT OCEANS CONNECTED  

When: 7 June 2026 | 11am to 1pm

Where: Sustained KL

Price: RM30 per ticket

The Sea Monkey Project and Projek Waste are collaborating in the name of World Oceans Day this Sunday with their Oceans Connected event. Aimed at sparking conversations about protecting our oceans, the schedule includes talks, upcycling workshops, and even a climate café with bites from Bartolo Bakehouse, Gelulu Gelato and Uncle Jeff Drinks.

6. EASE INTO SOME AFTERHOUR BEATS WITH CONNOR’S COLLECTIVE X AFTER 8

When: On select Saturdays through August

Where: Food Fiction, REXKL

Connor’s Collective is bringing some beats to your Saturdays in partnership with After 8 all through August. The schedule includes both live performances and DJ sets on different nights, so make sure your energy lasts past dinnertime!
