‘I know my wife is strong’ - Jaslinda’s husband

TAPAH — “My wife… she is strong.”

Those were the words of the husband of missing hiker Jaslinda Saludin, 49, moments after being reunited with her at the Emergency and Trauma Unit of Tapah Hospital on Saturday.

In an emotionally charged moment, Haszman Othman, 61, was seen embracing and kissing his wife as soon as Jaslinda arrived after being found safe in Kampung Lubuk Gaharu, Pos Musoh.

Speaking to the media, Haszman expressed his gratitude to all parties involved in the search and rescue (SAR) operation for his wife throughout the 15 days she was missing.

“Thank you to everyone involved… the police, fire and rescue, NGOs, statutory bodies and all who helped,” he said.

He also extended special thanks to the Orang Asli community, who played a crucial role in supporting the search effort.

When asked about Jaslinda’s condition, he declined to comment further and deferred to the authorities for an official statement.

“We have to wait for the report from the police. I don’t dare say anything,” he said.

He said his wife was in a stable condition and had shown extraordinary strength throughout the ordeal.

“I know my wife… I know she is strong,” he said.
