Gemini can now control your Google TV's settings, but only on these models

Announced earlier this year, Google TV is now rolling out a Gemini update that lets you adjust TV settings with voice commands, but only on TCL models at first.

Diving into your TV’s settings menu to make adjustments can be a bit exhausting, but that’s something Gemini can now do for you. With an update rolling out now, Gemini is able to adjust TV settings such as brightness, volume, sound, and picture modes. It can even tune settings to specific use cases.

Google explains:

This functionality was announced earlier this year, but is now actively rolling out.

That is, assuming you have a compatible TV.

For now, this is a TCL exclusive. That’s for the first 60 days at least, TCL tells 9to5Google in an email, so other brands might not have to wait that long. Android 14 or higher is required.

It’s also not available to every TCL TV running Google TV. It’s only in the US, and only on “select” 2025 and 2026 models. Some specific releases that will get support in this first wave include the QM9K, QM7L, RM7L, X11L, QM9L, QM8L, and RM9L.
