3 seriously injured after minibus mounts pavement in Hong Kong

Three people have been seriously injured after a minibus mounted a pavement in Hong Kong’s Kowloon City district.

Police received a report around 5.48pm that a minibus travelling along Argyle Street had mounted the pavement outside Kowloon City Court, injuring 20 people.

The force said three people were seriously injured. Online videos show some of the injured sitting on steps outside the building waiting for help, before being placed onto stretchers and brought to ambulances.

One man’s right ankle was wrapped in bandages and he was taken to an ambulance.

The minibus’s crumpled front section was wedged into a concrete planter box.

At least five ambulances and fire trucks were deployed to the scene.
