Citrawarna 2026, also known as Colours of Malaysia, is set to return to Dataran Merdeka from 24 to 26 July 2026 to showcase and celebrate Malaysia’s diverse cultures, traditions, and heritage.

After a roughly four-year hiatus, Citrawarna makes its comeback as part of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026), carrying the theme ‘Ritma Warisan, Nadi Nusa dan Bangsa’ (The Rhythm, The Soul and The Nation).

The last major national-level edition was Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia 2022 in Kuching, Sarawak. The festival was first inaugurated by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture in 1999 to celebrate Malaysia’s traditional arts, songs, and dances.

The mission of this year’s edition is no different, and visitors can look forward to four signature experiences:

Visitors can refer to the programme schedules and get the latest updates on Citrawarna’s official social media pages.

Look out for exclusive hotel deals during this period

Citrawarna has partnered with nearby hotels, including Parkroyal Collection Kuala Lumpur, Sunway Hotel Velocity, Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur, Dorsett Grand Subang, and The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur, to offer exclusive room rates, making it easier for visitors to attend the festival without worrying about the commute.
