Pixel 11 series leaks with seemingly official renders, includes all-matte Pixel 11 Pro [Gallery]

Fresh off some leaks showcasing the Pixel 11 Pro Fold in official-looking renders, we’re getting new looks at all three of Google’s non-folding Pixel 11 models in seemingly all of this year’s color options, including a long-awaited all-matte option for the Pixel 11 Pro.

Evan Blass, who was also the source for today’s foldable leak, published images of the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL in all of Google’s various colorways, and it looks like your finish choices might be the freshest thing about this year’s crop of phones. Utilizing previous leaked color names for each device, it appears all three models come in four shades each, with both sizes of the Pro sharing their color library.

First the Pixel 11. This year’s base model comes in Midnight — a greenish black that reminds me the most of the Pixel 5 — Fuschia, a lighter green shade called Moss, and the lavender-esque Sterling. All four phones feature matte frames paired with glossy glass backs, a trend that, elsewhere in the industry, has really run its course. There’s no other surprises here, no color-coordinated buttons or online exclusive shades, but all together, it’s four relatively unique shades in the Pixel lineup.

The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL, meanwhile, appear to come in Midnight, Fog, Pine, and Dune. Despite the difference in (rumored) names, the Pine Pixel 11 Pro isn’t too far off from the base model’s Moss, making Fog and Dune the standouts here. Fog isn’t too far off from some of Google’s previous shades, while the Dune model is grabbing my attention immediately. Gold isn’t a shade Google has leaned on much in the past, but the gold-tinted highlights paired with the peach back glass simply looks stunning in these leaks.

Like previous generations, Google has flipped its matte and glossy finishes on the Pros, pairing matte glass with a polished, fingerprint-friendly frame. Unlike its predecessors, though, the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL do have one trick up their sleeve: a fully matte finish on the Midnight variant. Unlike the metallic finishes on the other three models, these renders clearly show a matte frame wrapping around the device, without swapping back to the reflective glass from the base model. Unfortunately, you’ll need to settle for this color if, like myself, you’re chasing after that matte life.

That means this year’s Midnight (again, final color names TBD) Pixel 11 Pro joins Google’s foldables and, oddly enough, the Pixel 10a as the only devices to be sold with fully matte finishes. Let’s hope this trend finally wraps up after this generation — I know I’ve wiped more than my fair share of smudges off my various Pixels over the past few years.

The Pixel 11 series will be fully unveiled on August 12th; expect to pay higher prices.
