Netflix’s 'Blood Sacrifice' Cast And Character Guide

The 2026 Swedish crime thriller series, Blood Sacrifice, follows the Stockholm Police’s attempt to find and stop a serial killer who has been running loose in the city and specifically targeting police officers. The 5-episode series is helmed by the lead detective of the squad, Thomas Berg, who also has to seek help from his ex-cop father, Alfred, despite their mostly estranged relationship. Blood Sacrifice has a big cast, with many characters belonging to the Stockholm Police, so here’s a quick list of all the characters and the actors who play them.

Jakob Oftebro as Thomas Berg

The Norwegian actor Jakob Oftebro stars as the protagonist, Thomas Berg, a police detective who has been steadily climbing up the ranks of the Swedish Police, even becoming a popular face after having solved a number of high-profile cases. Thomas is the most intelligent officer in the police squad, according to his coworkers, and also by the claims of many TV programs, who have started to hail him as a representative, or the very face, of the police force. But the protagonist seems to suffer from a slight sense of over-confidence, adding depth to his character, and is also mostly devoid of expression. It is Thomas who quickly establishes that the murder of the two police officers, at the start of the series, must be linked to a previous case where the victim was also a police officer, despite the previous case being considered solved already.

Aside from his dedicated service at work, Thomas is also a loving husband and father, and he makes it a point to spend as much time with his family as he can. But the only big botch with regards to his character is his unusual relationship with his father, for they do not express their concern for each other, and Thomas does not do anything to make the relation any better, despite his father’s old age. Jakob Oftebro, who is best known for his roles in Kon-Tiki, 1864, Hamilton, and Stenbeck, portrays the role of Thomas Berg brilliantly, bringing out his inexpressive nature very convincingly.

Peter Andersson as Alfred Berg

Swedish actor Peter Andersson appears as Alfred Berg in the series, playing the role of the protagonist’s father. Alfred is a loner by choice, as he refuses to be a part of his son’s life, in spite of Thomas and his wife’s best efforts to include him in the family. Instead, the old man prefers to stay holed up at his house, assembling an elaborate toy train set, carefully fixing miniature figures all around the display to simply add more elements to it. Alfred’s other pastime is to follow the news on TV and drink alcohol of all kinds, with a certain flavored fizzy cocktail being his favorite. But beyond all these casual habits, the man is also extremely sharp and intelligent, having been a part of the Swedish police force for a very long time. It was just some time ago that Alfred was dismissed from the force for having planted evidence to frame someone while investigating a case.

The guilt of having been dismissed from the force that he had dedicated his entire life to has now evolved into a feeling of contempt against the police, with Alfred genuinely believing that he is superior to most other police officers, and therefore the authorities must feel lucky to be helped by him in this particular case. While Alfred is essentially brought onto the case by his son, he desperately wants to prove his importance to the entire force. Alfred’s relationship with Thomas also becomes a point of focus throughout the show, as he always acts tough around his son, hiding his real feelings of love and concern. Peter Andersson, who gained global fame after appearing in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and is also known for his role in the Danish film Flickering Lights, has done a convincing job as Alfred Berg.

Electra Hallman as Natalie Eklund

The Swedish actress Electra Hallman, known for her appearances in Jordskott, Blackwater, and The Swedish Torpedo, plays the character of Natalie Eklund in Blood Sacrifice. Natalie is a detective in the Stockholm Police force, and is therefore a coworker of Thomas, but the two hardly know each other before they start investigating the serial killings together. Originally wanting to bring his close friend and fellow detective Max Abrahamsson on as his partner in the case, Thomas almost impulsively decides to select Natalie instead, believing that she will be more determined and hardworking than his friend. Natalie proves to be a good choice, as she makes multiple important discoveries and plays a significant role in the investigation, while also closely following Thomas’ instructions and taking charge of some side-situations whenever required.

Henrik Norlen as Max Abrahamsson

Swedish actor Henrik Norlen appears as another detective in the Stockholm Police force, Max Abrahamsson, who used to share a very close friendship with Thomas Berg, until very recently. It is not that something has happened between Thomas and Max, but the former somehow does not feel himself to be as close to his friend anymore. Despite their families also being friends who regularly visit each other, Thomas decides to keep Max out of his investigation, and decides to instead pick Natalie. This is in part because of the fact that Max is away from the police station, playing football with his friends, when Thomas makes the call for him, and the protagonist assumes that this shows his friend is no longer interested in police affairs. But Max’s regular practice of playing football is part of his daily exercise schedule, for he has been struggling with fitness issues. Despite being sidelined and Thomas no longer sharing much about the case with him, Max remains determined to solve the case, and eventually starts investigating the matter on the side by himself. Henrik Norlen does a fine job portraying the character. The actor is known for his appearance in Ari Aster’s folk horror film Midsommar, and for his roles in the Swedish Johan Falk film series.

Alexander Abdallah as John-Jo Persson

Swedish actor Alexander Abdallah, known for his roles in Swedish shows, Snabba Cash and Love Me, appears in Blood Sacrifice as John-Jo Persson, an officer in the detective unit of Stockholm Police. John-Jo is one of the few openly gay officers in the squad, and he truly fears for himself, his husband, and their baby when the serial killer starts attacking police officers. One of the very first victims, Bengtsson, was also queer, and so John-Jo naturally feared that it might have been a hate crime. His character is used mostly to establish the personal life that police officers and detectives lead, and how they too can be spooked when a serial killer is on the prowl, especially targeting those in the same profession as them.

Lisette T. Pagler as Charlotte Berg

South-Korean-Swedish actor and singer, Lisette T. Pagler, appears as Charlotte Berg, the wife of Thomas. Charlotte is a psychotherapist by profession, and so she wholeheartedly supports the discussion around the need for mental health support for police officers. Eventually, Charlotte takes over the responsibility of providing therapy sessions to a pool of police officers, but she ultimately realizes that things are not as they seem, and that she is basically being used. On many instances, Charlotte also tries to be the line of communication between her husband and her father-in-law, since both of them do not talk to each other for days. Pagler is known for her appearances in Real Humans and Blinded.

Magnus Krepper as Peter Johansson

Swedish actor, dancer, and singer, Magnus Krepper, known for Queen of Hearts. The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, and A Cure for Wellness, appears in Blood Sacrifice as Peter Johansson, another ex-police officer, like Arthur Berg. At one point in time, Peter and Arthur used to work together on the police force, until a tragic incident resulted in the former distancing himself from the force. Peter had failed to help out his fellow officer in a moment of crisis, for which he still has to bear the guilt and the shame of having been branded a coward. Magnus Krepper plays the role of Peter quite well, making his feelings and concerns look very genuine. He also happens to be a professional magician and a member of the Moderna Illusionisters Cirkel (MIC), which is the Swedish magic and illusion association.
