Pahang records RM850 million in revenue collection as of July

SHAH ALAM - The Pahang state government appears to be on the right track after successfully collecting RM850 million in state revenue as of July, this year.
State Investment, Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Nizar Mohamad Najib said Pahang, under the leadership of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, has demonstrated impressive capability by successfully collecting RM1 billion in revenue for four consecutive years.
Nizar said this financial strength gives Pahang the freedom to determine its own direction without relying on the federal budget.
"As of July 2026, the state government has successfully collected RM850 million, keeping us on track to reach RM1 billion.
"The state government's target is around RM1.247 billion for 2026 and my boss (Wan Rosdy) will not hoard that money.
"When we achieve a revenue of RM1 billion, the Pahang state government gains financial strength and becomes self-reliant in offering aid to the public, formulating budgets for development and more.
"Just imagine if we had an administration that lacked the know-how to generate revenue, manage finances effectively, or plug financial leakages. Pahang's economy would certainly be left floundering," he said.
He said this during Town Hall Rakyat programme hosted by actor Fikry Ibrahim at Dewan Karangkraf, here, on Friday.
The programme which started at 8.30pm was broadcast live across all Sinar Harian digital platforms.
