Bell & Ross BR-X5 Meteorite Brings Space to the Wrist
7 hours ago
Bell & Ross is taking its BR-X5 collection in a more cosmic direction with the new BR-X5 Meteorite, a limited-edition timepiece featuring a dial made from the Muonionalusta meteorite.
The 41mm watch combines a stainless-steel case with the collection’s multi-layered architecture and is powered by a COSC-certified manufacture movement offering a 70-hour power reserve.
Its defining feature, however, is the meteorite dial. The Muonionalusta meteorite was discovered in northern Sweden and is estimated to be around 4.5 billion years old, making it almost as old as Earth itself. It is believed to have fallen to Earth approximately one million years ago before remaining preserved beneath Scandinavian permafrost.
Once cut and treated for use in watchmaking, the meteorite reveals its distinctive Widmanstätten pattern — a crystalline structure formed over immense periods of time. Because the pattern occurs naturally and cannot be artificially replicated, each dial has its own appearance.
Bell & Ross has limited production of the BR-X5 Meteorite to 250 pieces, giving the watch an additional layer of individuality beyond its technical construction.
The new model retains the architectural character associated with the BR-X5 while introducing a material with a history that predates human civilisation. It is an approach that places the emphasis as much on geological provenance as on mechanical watchmaking.
The Bell & Ross BR-X5 Meteorite (BRX5R-MTR-ST/SST) measures 41mm and is priced at RM41,400.
