Apple’s first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, went on pre-order in Malaysia at 8pm on 16 October and is scheduled to go on sale on 23 October. The device starts at RM9,499 for 256GB, rises to RM10,499 for 512GB, RM12,499 for 1TB and reaches RM15,499 for 2TB. It is available in Star White and Night Sky.
Within roughly an hour of pre-orders opening, most first-batch allocations at authorised retailers and telcos had already sold out, and new orders placed on Apple’s Malaysian online store shifted to estimated delivery from 22 January 2027. Apple has also stated that the phone is currently available to buy online only, so walk-in purchases at Apple The Exchange TRX are not expected for those without a prior order.
When closed the Duo uses a 5.4-inch outer display. Opened it reveals a 7.6-inch inner display that Apple describes as 50 percent larger than the screen on the iPhone 18 Pro Max and the thinnest iPhone yet. Both panels support ProMotion and high peak brightness, with a nano-texture finish on the inner screen intended to reduce glare and crease visibility.
The phone runs the A20 Pro chip, uses a dual-battery design and is claimed to deliver up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display or 44 hours on the outer one. Authentication is handled by Touch ID in the side button rather than Face ID, the device is eSIM-only, and Apple Pencil support on both screens is scheduled to arrive later in 2026.
For Malaysian buyers the price places the Duo well above a standard iPhone 18 Pro, and the rapid sell-out means most people who did not order in the first hour are now looking at a multi-month wait or limited remaining stock through carriers such as CelcomDigi, which has offered trade-in values up to RM5,800 and financing options. The launch shows strong local demand for Apple’s first foldable even at a premium that exceeds many other flagships.
If you missed the first wave, patience is required.
