All the Celebrity Halloween Looks We're Loving This Year

When it comes to Halloween, the only rule is that there are no rules. At least, that’s the mindset celebrities seemed to adopt this year, trading their usual red-carpet finery for an eclectic mix of fantastical characters, horror-inspired creations and tributes to some of pop culture’s biggest icons. Because why settle for a pair of cat ears when you could become an entirely different species?

As always, Heidi Klum proved why she remains the undisputed queen of Halloween. Never one to shy away from an elaborate transformation, the supermodel arrived at her annual Halloween party in New York having transformed herself into a rather gruesome severed hand.

Meanwhile, our favourite Hollywood couple, Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse, got into the spooky spirit as Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas at their first-ever ‘Sprouse House’ Halloween party in Los Angeles. Then there was Janelle Monáe, whose penchant for the unconventional continued with ‘Phish Boy’, an original fish-like creature that was every bit as peculiar as its name suggests. Needless to say, subtlety was nowhere on the agenda.

Elsewhere, nostalgia proved to be a popular source of inspiration. Keke Palmer and her son, Leo, paid homage to Michael and Janet Jackson’s iconic monochromatic looks from the 1996 ‘Scream’ music video, while Zendaya channelled Halle Berry. Harry Styles, on the other hand, took a trip down memory lane, recreating his now-iconic 2010 The X Factor audition look during his concert residency.

Closer to home, Asian celebrities brought their own interpretations to the festivities. Davika Hoorne went villainous as Cruella, Jisoo transformed into Lucy from the anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Christinna Kuan channelled a mermaid inspired by the paintings of John William Waterhouse.
