Samsung rolling out November 2024 update to these Galaxy devices – what's new
1 hour ago
Samsung is actively rolling out the November 2024 security update to select Galaxy devices. Here’s which devices have been updated and what’s new in the update.
As usual, this latest monthly security update doesn’t bring any drastic changes. Any major new changes are likely being reserved for One UI 7, Samsung’s Android 15 update, which is due to be released in 2025.
One of the changes you’ll find in the November 2024 update on Galaxy devices is to Auto Blocker, a feature designed to improve security. In the “Maximum” setting, Samsung will now block all USB devices from functioning, with the exception of devices only used for power, like chargers.
Beyond that, this update addresses a collection of various security issues with over 30 “high” priority fixes, but no critical patches. All of these are included in Google’s November Android Security Bulletin, and will also be included in future updates for other Android devices.
Samsung is working behind the scenes on bigger future updates, such as Android 15, but the November 2024 update is rolling out in a fairly quick pace. Below we’ve listed the Galaxy devices that have already received the update, and we’ll update that list periodically as the update expands to more devices.
So far, devices getting the November 2024 update include:
This list will expand rapidly over the coming weeks.
Keep in mind that, as always, availability on these updates will vary based on your region, carrier, and other factors. For more information on the November 2024 security update, we’d recommend taking a look at SamMobile’s granular coverage of individual rollouts.
