While there are many kind people out there, there is also a small percentage who are up to no good.

Recently, an Air Selangor water truck sent to help distribute clean water to Kelantan flood victims allegedly had its tyre punctured in Tanah Merah, Kelantan.

According to Tanah Merah police, the flood damaged the Bukit Remah water treatment plant (LRA) on 27 September 2024. The water treatment plant is still currently under repairs.

Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd has been working with other water supply companies in Selangor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Pahang, and Terengganu to deliver clean water to displaced victims.

The police confirmed receiving a report from the supervisor of Air Kelantan on 4 December 2024 that the tyre of an Air Selangor water truck was punctured during the water distribution process.

The police investigated the case under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and damage or loss.

Upon conviction, the accused faces a prison sentence of at least one year but no more than five years, a fine, or both.

The suspect was apprehended and charged under Section 426 of the Penal Code. The suspect admitted guilt and was fined RM1,000. Failing to do that, the accused faces imprisonment for 12 days.

Tanah Merah police chief Supt Mohd Haki Hasbullah advised the public to remain patient while dealing with flood challenges and to refrain from acting recklessly.

Coincidentally, Harapan Daily reported that a water truck from Air Melaka was besieged by flood victims.

The police are investigating the case under Section 427 of the Penal Code.
