Google Photos now shows what Albums images & videos are in 

A nice quality-of-life improvement to Google Photos for Android (and the web) shows “Albums” status in the Info panel.

Upon swiping on a fullscreen image or video, Google Photos on Android now shows an “Albums” section that lists where you have cataloged it. It appears below People & pets and before Details. More than one album can appear, with the number of “items” also noted.

Previously, you didn’t have a good indicator about whether you already grouped something. Adding content that’s already in an album would just return a “0 items added” snackbar with “View” button.

Favorites are unfortunately not treated as an album and would make for a useful shortcut.

This Albums section is also available on the web’s Info panel, but it’s not appearing on iOS. We’re seeing Albums with Google Photos 7.11 for Android today (via Artem Russakovskii).
