Hiker rescued after asthma attack on Miri’s Canada Hill

MIRI, Dec 26: A hiking excursion on Canada Hill turned into a rescue operation today after a hiker fell ill due to an asthma attack.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) was alerted at 10.27am and dispatched a team to the scene at The Grand Old Lady, Canada Hill, approximately 3 kilometers from the nearest road.
The Bomba team located the 28-year-old man about 300 meters from the main road. The hiker was found to be fatigued and struggling due to asthma but was in stable condition.
The operation continued as the team escorted the hiker to safety.
He was subsequently handed over to the police for further action. – DayakDaily
