Add some flair to your yam seng sessions this season with these gorgeous Chinese New Year 2025 limited-edition whiskies, wine, beer, and cognac.
Let’s be real, most Chinese New Year celebrations would be incomplete without a toast to new beginnings. As we increase the number of times we shout “yam seng” over the next few weeks, make sure you do it with some booze worthy of gracing the glasses at your celebrations alongside your lavish feasts. In conjunction with the festive season, these alcohol brands have released limited-edition bottles featuring prints and designs that will bring some extra charm to your cheers.
HENNESSYThe world-renowned cognac house has revealed its collaboration with Chinese fashion designer Shuting Qiu. In the collection, the Hennessy VSOP, X.O, and Paradis bottles have been given a makeover just in time for the Year of the Snake. Titled ‘Reimagination’, the series embraces renewal and positive transformation with vibrant interpretations of a snake gliding through the bottles’ designs. Hangzhou-born and Shanghai-based Qiu took inspiration from Chinese brocade and embroidery prints to bring life to the bottles with floral motifs as well as snake scale patterns. While all three bottles are donned in bright hues of red, each have their own character as Qiu uses different silhouettes and patterns to perfect their looks.

CARLSBERGBoth Carlsberg Danish Pilsner and Carlsberg Smooth Draught cans have both been given a makeover for the Chinese New Year season, thanks to the 1983asia duo of Malaysian artist Yao and Su Su from China. Its ‘一起發’ —AKA “Brewing Prosperity Together”—theme is a nod to Carlsberg’s 178th anniversary as the Chinese characters are read similarly to how one would read the number 178. The snake stands out as the main character on the artwork with a Carlsberg hop leaf-shaped head, gracefully slithering through a vibrant bunch of peonies, orchids, and fireworks.
Availability: Purchase at supermarkets, other alcohol retailers, and participating bars or restaurants.
