Melaka Makeup Artist And Hairstylist Remanded For Suspected Molestation Of 18-Year-Old Actor

A 41-year-old makeup artist and hairstylist is under a seven-day remand for allegedly molesting an 18-year-old part-time actor at a salon in Ayer Keroh, Melaka. The incident reportedly occurred on January 17.

Magistrate Sharda Shienha Mohd Suleiman issued the remand order on January 20 at the Magistrates Court, as reported by Sinar Harian.

According to Acting Melaka Police Chief Datuk Md Nazri Zawawi, the victim, a college student from Bangi, Selangor, was drawn to the suspect's offer of free hairstyling services and visited the salon around 3 PM. The victim had prior acquaintance with the suspect, who also offered a body massage during the visit.

During the massage, the suspect allegedly massaged the victim's thigh and proceeded to remove his pants, escalating the situation to inappropriate acts. The victim, who also works part-time as a performer at Istana Budaya, reportedly left the salon immediately after the incident and later filed a police report after regaining composure.

Authorities arrested the suspect outside the salon in Taman Tasik Utama at approximately 4:30 PM on January 19. The case is being handled by the D11 Division (Sexual, Women, and Child Investigations) at the Melaka Police HQ.

"The suspect is being investigated under Section 377C of the Penal Code for voluntarily committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature," Datuk Md Nazri added. The remand is set to last until January 26.
