Chinese Film "Ne Zha 2" Becomes The Highest Grossing Animated Movie In Box Office History With $1.7 Billion, Beating "Inside Out 2"

Disney's "Inside Out 2" has lost ground to the Chinese hit "Ne Zha 2" as the highest-grossing animated movie ever made!

Since its release last month, "Ne Zha 2" has packed theaters in China and already grabbed the title of the highest box office release in the nation.

"Ne Zha 2" tells the tale of a rebellious young deity who uses his powers to battle formidable foes after his village is destroyed.

Citing ticketing website Maoyan, state news agency Xinhua said on Tuesday that the fantasy epic has made over 12.319 billion yuan, or over $1.72 billion.

After its release last year, "Inside Out 2" made $1.7 billion, which loses to Ne Zha 2 by a small margin.
