These innovative Creative audio products are making their way to Malaysia

Founded in 1981, Creative has been a household name for audio technology. Many Creative audio products are on the sharp end of cutting-edge, and the Malaysian market is set to experience some aural pleasure.

Let’s start with the highlight products.

The Pebble Nova speakers and Aurvana Ace Mimi earbuds

Creative knows their desktop speakers, and the Pebble Nova (US$280 / RM1,308) is a step up in sound and aesthetics. Overall, its design reminds us of Star Wars, with the black version giving Death Star vibes and the white looking like a lightsaber training droid.

The Pebble Nova employs coaxial driver system , which eliminates the need for a separate subwoofer while still providing enough boom. Meanwhile, the signature 45-degree angle drivers from the Pebble X Plus (read our review here) still delivers immersive sound. The Pebble Nova comes with a desktop stand in the box.

Along with a much cuter name, the Aurvana Ace Mimi (US$130 / RM607) is Creative’s answer to consumer feedback on the Aurvana Ace 2. Snapdragon Sound has been replaced, which ensures that the Mimi will provide equally-good sound quality to devices of all chipsets. Creative also retained the very very good XMEMs solid state drivers and squeezed more battery life – bring the Mimi to 28 hours in the case and 7 hours playtime per charge.

The highlight, though, is the Mimi sound personalization. Its namesake comes from Creative’s collaboration with Mimi Sound Technologies to deliver unique sound personalization based on your individual hearing. Apparently, our hearing is like a fingerprint… no two ears hear exactly the same.

Other Creative audio products to scratch that itch in your ear

Creative’s Sound Blaster series of internal sound cards and external DACs and amps will add an extra punch, whether you’re consuming or creating games, music, or video content.

Leading the way is the G8 and X5. The G8 offers dual USB-C for seamless PC and console mixing, high-resolution playback, and SBX surround sound. Meanwhile, the X5 enhances audio further with dual DACs, a balanced amp, and versatile connectivity.

For those who prefer soundbars, there’s Creative’s Katana range. Named after the sword that’s synonymous with perfection, the Katana series of soundbars exhibits the same sleek sophistication and formidable strength in its design and audio prowess. Just…. don’t swing it around like a sword.
