tvN’s upcoming drama “Resident Playbook” has unveiled a new teaser!

A spin-off of the hit series “Hospital Playlist,” “Resident Playbook” will depict the realistic and relatable hospital lives, growth, and heartwarming friendships of residents at the Jongro branch of Yulje Medical Center.

The newly released teaser offers a glimpse into the impressive growth of first-year residents, who often know less than their patients.

It begins with Oh Yi Young (Go Youn Jung), who struggles with the challenges of social life, feeling it’s not meant for her. The teaser then shifts to the daily hurdles faced by first-year residents Oh Yi Young, Pyo Nam Kyung (Shin Si Ah), Um Jae Il (Kang You Seok), and Kim Sa Bi (Han Ye Ji), who are overwhelmed by mistakes and self-doubt. Though they instinctively respond to being called “Doctor” by patients, caregivers, and nurses, they still lack the social and medical skills needed to make decisions on their own.

When patients ask questions, they often hesitate, saying, “I’m still a first-year,” and apologize repeatedly. Despite this, they continue to show great passion, staying up all night to care for the hospital ward. Others at the hospital recognize their hard work, offering words of encouragement like, “Who’s perfect from the start?”—a message that deeply resonates with viewers.

As the saying goes, “We all learn through mistakes,” and the teaser raises the question of when these first-year residents, who seize every learning opportunity, will eventually stand confidently on their own in the workplace. Though they often criticize themselves for not being perfect and hesitate in uncertain moments, their growth—especially when they quickly respond to someone calling for them—holds a promising future.
