What's New On The "All-New" 2025 Proton X50

The 2025 Proton X50 brings a lot of changes, but is it enough to be considered an ‘all-new’ car?

Last month, Proton invited us to check out their ‘all-new’ Proton X50. Things are on embargo until tomorrow, but they’ve given us a press release of some key points that we can share a day before the embargo lifts along with some official photos.

The first thing to note that while it isn’t ‘all-new’ in the traditional sense of the word, it’s definitely more than just a facelift. The 2025 X50 sits on the same platform as the last car, but it has a new engine, a new interior (everything from door cards to the dashboard), massive upgrades to ADAS and other features, and it has a new face and rear end too. I think ‘new’ is sufficient to describe the upgrade here – more than a facelift, less than a generational evolution.
