Meliá Pattaya Debuts New Rooftop Dining Experience

Meliá Pattaya Hotel has introduced a striking new dining destination with the launch of Yitong Chinese Restaurant & Sky Bar, located on the hotel’s 12th floor. Opened earlier this month, the rooftop venue blends modern design, traditional Chinese influences, and a strong focus on health and sustainability.

Yitong features a dramatic ribbon-like ceiling sculpture, evoking the art of calligraphy, and interiors accented with gold, black and crimson hues. Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase sweeping views of Pattaya’s coastline, creating a vibrant yet refined atmosphere.

Opened in February 2025 on Second Road (Pattaya Sai Song), the Meliá Pattaya is ideally positioned near local attractions. Yitong adds a sophisticated culinary option to the hotel’s offerings, combining Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine with a wellness-oriented philosophy.

The name “Yitong”, meaning “together”, reflects the restaurant’s commitment to shared dining and community. The menu embraces local sourcing, with seafood from Chonburi fishermen and organic vegetables from Northern Thailand’s Royal Project farms, which promote sustainable agriculture and improve livelihoods in hill tribe communities.

Signature dishes include steamed Chonburi fish with ginger and lime for heart health, and a double-boiled herbal soup featuring Thai herbs, ginseng and goji berries. Other highlights are Sichuan Mala free-range chicken salad, “Longevity” noodles with prawns and Royal Project vegetables, and a five-spice tofu and vegetable stir-fry rich in protein and vitamins.

The rooftop sky bar offers both cocktails and mocktails with an East-Asian twist. Standout creations include the “Kuaile De”, a goji berry-infused gin drink topped with cava, and “Tian De”, featuring Campari with ginseng and Chinese liquor. Non-alcoholic options such as the “Year of the Snake” (kiwi, ginger, lemongrass and pear) and “Chinese NY Rita” (yuzu, goji berry, orange and lemon) offer refreshing alternatives.
