Road closures in Kuching for Sarawak Energy Isthmus Run until tomorrow morning

KUCHING (Aug 9): Motorists are advised to exercise caution and to plan their journeys ahead, following road closures around Kuching from today until tomorrow.

Kuching district police acting chief Supt Merbin Lisa said the road closures started today at 8am until 8am tomorrow.

This is to give way for the Sarawak Energy Isthmus Run event, he added.

“The road closures will affect the areas surrounding the Isthmus (traffic light junction up to BCCK roundabout),” he said in a statement.

The affected roads are Jalan Isthmus, Jalan Pelabuhan Jalan Kwong Lee Bank, Jalan Pending, Jalan Padungan, Jalan Wayang, Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, Jalan Taman Budaya, Jalan Satok, Jalan Tun Abd Rahman Yaakub, Jalan Samariang and Jalan Stadium.

Other road affected are Jalan Bako, Jalan Hasyim Jaafar, Jalan Merdeka, Jalan Kulas, Jalan Muhibbah, Jalan Dagok, Jalan Patingan, Jalan Tanjung, Jalan Datuk Ajibah Abol, Jalan Hj Mataim, Jalan Muda Hasyim, Jalan Haji Taha, Jalan Market, Jalan Gambier, Jalan Abell, Jalan Datuk Abang Abdul Rahim, Jalan Datuk Merican Salleh and Jalan Merbau.

Merbin also advised motorists to not park their vehicles at the roadside.
