SACOFA Partners With ZTE To Bring Better Connectivity To Sarawak

Life in Sarawak is becoming increasingly digital — from online classes and remote work to streaming and e-commerce. To keep up with these growing demands, SACOFA has teamed up with global technology company ZTE to modernise its statewide network.

The partnership aims to make internet access faster, stronger, and more reliable. With the upgrade, the network will be better at handling high data traffic while reducing interruptions, creating a smoother online experience for everyday users. A key part of this is ZTE’s Enhanced Deterministic Networking (EDN) processor, which helps keep connections smooth and steady by reducing delays and interruptions.

For Sarawak, a more resilient and efficient network will also support the state government’s Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 and the Sarawak Digital Blueprint 2030, both of which aim to build a future-ready economy.

“By modernising the network, SACOFA is positioned to transform increased capacity and reliability into economic growth and enhanced operational readiness,” said SACOFA Managing Director Dato Sri Sulaiman Abdul Rahman B Abdul Taib.

Beyond convenience, the move also strengthens Sarawak’s foundations for the future. A more resilient network means local businesses can scale up with confidence, communities can access digital services more easily, and the state can attract new opportunities in the digital economy.
