Memoona Qudoos Exposes Shocking Secrets About Karachi And Lahore Showbiz

Actress Memoona Qudoos has sparked debate with her candid remarks about the entertainment industry in Pakistan, drawing sharp comparisons between the showbiz culture of Karachi and Lahore.

Speaking during a recent podcast appearance, Qudoos said that people in Karachi are so professional that they often set aside humanity in their dealings. According to her, relationships in the city are transactional, to the point that even when making girlfriends, men present it as a “deal.”

“Karachi people do not do anything without a motive. Even when they make girlfriends, they give a deal. They say, ‘If you become my girlfriend, you will get these things. If not, then it’s fine,’” Qudoos claimed.

She contrasted this with what she described as a more problematic culture in Lahore. Compared to Karachi, there is more filth in Lahore’s showbiz industry. Lahore people are worse,” she said. Qudoos went further, alleging that the trend of homosexuality in showbiz began in Lahore. “Such things are more common there,” she added.

While admitting that Karachi is not free from such issues, she insisted that Lahore is far worse. “In Lahore, open parties take place, whereas such things should only happen privately,” Qudoos said. She also criticized Lahore’s culture of showing off. “They don’t even have millions, but they talk as if they have crores.”

The actress emphasized that although Karachi’s industry is stricter and more professional, that professionalism often overshadows humanity. “In Karachi, people are so professional that they have put humanity behind them,” she remarked.

During the podcast, Qudoos also addressed the long-debated issue of the casting couch in the entertainment industry. She acknowledged that exchanging work opportunities for sexual favors has been a reality in showbiz and stressed that it is not limited to women.

“Casting couch exists in the industry, and it is not restricted to females. Men have also been victims,” she said. She further highlighted that harassment is not something only women face. “Respect does not belong only to women. Men, too, are harassed and wronged in this industry.”

Her comments have sparked strong reactions, as she openly questioned practices within the industry while highlighting issues of exploitation and hypocrisy.

Memoona Qudoos’ bold remarks underscore the challenges of Pakistan’s showbiz culture, with her claims about professionalism in Karachi and misconduct in Lahore drawing particular attention.
